"I should have guessed" Richa said as she admired the beautiful ruby ring on Janani's finger.
"Guessed what??" Janani asked
"That there is a reason why he didn't kick you out of the house when he realised the truth"
Richa said winking
"Now I am a star among my friends" Aditya said grinning as he plopped himself next to
Janani on the couch.
"Star?? And you?? What could you have possibly done to become a star??" Janani asked
"Nothing much. I just posted a photo of you and me as my whatsapp status" Aditya said and
Janani frowned
"What is so special in that?? I a. no celebrity" Janani said
"That's right. You are not. I posted the photo with the caption 'my darling sis' " he said, still
grinning widely
Janani narrowed her eyes suspiciously.
"Why do I feel like you did something mischievous??" Janani asked, looking pointedly at the
younger boy.
"After an hour of posting that photo, I posted the photo of the great Armaan Verma on his
knees in front of you" he said smugly
"What did you do? Are you mad? Why would you do something like that??" Janani asked
beating him with the couch pillow
"Stop it na di. It was a wonderful opportunity for me to show off. Why would I not use it??" He
asked dodging the pillow
"Don't tell me you told them you got an internship there too" Janani warned him through
narrowed eyes
"Okay. I won't tell you if you don't want to hear" Aditya said and started running around the
living room and Janani chased him
"Aadi ki bachchi. You are dead today" Janani screamed as she chased him out of the house.
They came running out to the backyard where Armaan was on a phone call.
They both stopped dead on tracks when they heard the booming voice of Armaan Verma.
"I am not paying you so that you would call me for every single mishap happening in the
company. I have hired an efficient team so that they could take care of these silly mistakes
on their own." There was a pause as he listened to what the person on other side was telling
him
"What the!! Don't give me silly excuses, Roy. I need a report immediately. And who the hell
gave the new intern access to the project details. On what basis did you even hire him??" A
pause followed
"I will be back tomorrow and I will personally meet the boy. And warn him that I am not at all
in a good mood." Armaan hung up cursing his employees for ruining his mood.
He was having a very good time here in Janani's hometown. He had been introduced to
Dhawan family next door and Gupta family who lives nearby.
And it was so very different from the people in his social circle where everything is a facade.
Where money talks more that character.
And here people are genuine. Their smiles are warm and genuine unlike the fake smiles he
